A lot of my friends & family had never heard of freecycle before and therefore were still just putting things out to go to the landfills. A few others had used it before but had bad experiences (people not collecting when arranged etc) so had stopped using it but I'm slowly convincing them all to start using it. I’ve only found out about freecycle about 6 months ago and I’ve both given and received items from others on the freecycle network.
